TAB is back, this time with a new single but keeping things familiar for his fans by releasing a new single titled ‘Extra Credit’ (featuring Leanord D. and produced by Byrn) but with the instrumental to a prior single titled ‘College Grad’. In case one is new to TAB is a Virginia Beach native that has dedicated his time to crafting his work as a rapper as he ventures into the real world of job searching, relationships, and paying bills.
‘Extra Credit’ is a track that could use some improvement in the production table. Perhaps the reverb could be less saturated and add a synth or key melody so the track can be memorable on the first listen. TAB delivers charismatic lyrics about cutting up in class and chasing women to eventually realize that he needed to keep his eye on the prizes: a college degree and money. Leonard D. raps about coming back to his old grounds after graduating to eventually realize that he has more work to do. He may have felt that like he was high in the clouds after earning his degree but he knows that he has a long way to go if he intends to obtain a better position of power.
Overall, it is an okay track at best. TAB and Leonard D. have the personality and nuance to pull off content about life after college. I just wish the production was lighter in the tone and less reverb saturated.
